Scuba Diving - Benguerra Lodge - 7 nights
Benguerra is a paradise for both experienced and novice snorkellers and scuba divers. To encourage visitors to enjoy the pristine reefs, a fully equipped dive centre with dive instructor has been set up. There are numerous dive venues available, including the superb Two-Mile Reef.
Benguerra Lodge
Benguerra Lodge is on the sub-tropical Benguerra Island in Mozambiques Bazaruto Archipelago. An ideal luxury Bazaruto holiday or vacation destination, Benguerra Lodge is great for diving and fishing. As one of Mozambiques top lodges, Benguerra can easily be combined with an African safari holiday.
Itinerary in brief
- Day 1 Depart from Jhb Int airport with LAM (flights depart every morning) and fly to Vilanculos in Mozambique. Flight time is approx 2 hours. On arrival at Vilanculos you will be met by our representatives and transfer by light aircraft to Benguerra Island. The rest of the day is free to relax and discuss the diving plans with the PADI dive centre at the lodge.
- Day 2 - 6 Scuba Diving in Bazaruto - 2 scuba dives per day (subject to weather conditions)
- Day 7 Your last day at Benguerra Lodge to relax before you depart the following morning.
- Day 8 The lodge will transfer you directly back to Vilanculos airport for your return flight to Jhb. Flight depart in the afternoon and you will arrive in Jhb approx 16.15
Scuba Diving in Mozambique
The most striking aspects of scuba diving the reefs around the island is the sheer unspoiled beauty combined with the variety and abundance of marine life. Many exotic reef fish abound such as schooling banner fish, moorish idols, butterfly fish, blue striped snappers, barred sweetlips, goldies, trigger fish and hosts of others.
