Set in one of the most picturesque areas in Mozambique with spectacular views of pristine beaches and the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean this is an ideal holiday vacation destination. The lodge is nestled amongst groves of coconut trees and the warm Indian Ocean offers safe bathing all year round. Wide open, sun-drenched beaches offer endless hours of strolling pleasure. The Casitas are fitted with two beds, ensuite bathroom and all have sea views and are a stone throw from the beach.

Itinerary in brief

7 nights Mozambique Scuba Diving Holiday - Barra Lodge

Day 1 Depart from Jhb Int airport with LAM (flights depart every morning) and fly to Inhambane in Mozambique. Flight time is approx 2 hours. On arrival at Inhambane you will be met by our representatives and transfer through to Barra Lodge. The rest of the day is free to relax and discuss the diving plans with the PADI dive centre at the lodge.
Day 2 - 6 Scuba Diving in Inhambane. 2 scuba dives per day (subject to weather conditions)
Day 7 Your last day at Barra Lodge to relax before you depart the following morning.
Day 8 The lodge will transfer you directly back to Inhambane airport for your return flight to Jhb. Flight depart in the afternoon and you will arrive in Jhb approx 16.1

Highlights

Scuba Diving at Barra Lodge

There is a fully equipped dive centre with all necessary facilities including indoor training pool, kiting up room, filling station, rest areas, kit storage, lecture and first aid. Resident diving instructors offer professional tuition with Resort, Open Water 1 and Advanced courses on offer. Equipment can be hired.

There are a number of reefs, some close pinnacles and some further away. Dive depths vary from 8 metres to 30 metres offering a variety of diving experiences. This is an underwater fairy tale land, with deep gullies, coral caverns and awesome swim-throughs. Kingfish are commonly seen here as well as potato and brindle bass. Gamefish species like couta, kingies, wahoo, sailies and marlin abound and the reefs are also home to a huge variety of corals and monster coral dishes. Sharks, mantas, whale sharks and rays are also common and if you are really lucky you may catch a glimpse of the rare and endangered dugong.
